Dr. Lillian Akorfa‑Ohene, Board Chair & Global Medical Director, DIB Ghana | Senior Lecturer, Head of Department for Public Health Nursing

As Board Chair & Global Medical Director at DIB, Dr. Ohene provides strategic leadership across DIB’s medical programs, ensuring clinical excellence, capacity-building, and mentorship initiatives across Africa and beyond. She oversees the development and coordination of medical projects, student engagement in healthcare programs, and international collaborations that advance DIB’s mission of transforming healthcare.

Dr. Ohene is a Senior Lecturer and Head of Department for Public Health Nursing at the School of Nursing and Midwifery, University of Ghana. She is a certified paediatric nurse with a PhD in Nursing from De Montfort University, UK, an MPhil, and a BSc in Nursing from the University of Ghana. With over twenty years of teaching and clinical experience, she has contributed extensively to research on holistic care of sick children, women’s wellbeing, and family-centered care in the Ghanaian context, publishing widely in local and international peer-reviewed journals.

She is a reviewer for several international journals and an active member of Sigma Theta Tau International (STTI), West Africa Postgraduate College of Nurses and Midwives (WAPCNM), and a foundation fellow of the Ghana College of Nurses and Midwives (GCNM). A Queen Elizabeth Scholar (QES), Dr. Ohene is passionate about mentoring and has supervised hundreds of undergraduate and postgraduate research projects. She also serves as a patron for three student associations at the University of Ghana.
